Note To Self

A conversation with artists on what happens when photography moves beyond the still image, becoming experiences, installations, and objects that invite, and sometimes demand, participation. A discussion about where the medium is going and what it means to make work that exists in space rather than on a wall.

Brooke walks participants through her self-portraiture practice (including failed attempts, strange props, and happy accidents), making the case that all you need is curiosity and a willingness to tinker.

Brooke transforms a space into a fully built, prop-filled set: wallpapered walls, unexpected objects, surreal staging. Participants are invited to play around, explore, and make self-portraits without any pressure to be brilliant. A brief intro from Brooke on her process kicks things off, then the space is yours. These sessions will be small groups only, to allow for genuine hands-on exploration.
